The Republic sells-out YulegrassLegendary string pioneer and new Portland, Maine resident Darol Anger brought his newest incarnation of Republic of Strings to a sold-out One Longfellow Square for his first annual Yulegrass celebration. Joining Darol were fellow virtuosos violinist Lauren Rioux, mandolinist Joe Walsh, phenomenal cellist Mike Block, & westcoast guitar star Scott Law for a memorable musical journey into the heart of the season. Anger Named Berklee Adjunct ProfessorAcclaimed fiddler, composer and educator Darol Anger was recently named adjunct professor at the Berklee School of Music in Boston. Anger will teach improvisation and vernacular music styles to students of the world’s largest private music college. At home in a number of musical genres, Anger is known for his versatility and depth. He has driven the evolution of the contemporary string band through his work with ensembles such as his Republic of Strings, Turtle Island String Quartet, David Grisman Quintet, The Montreux Band, Psychograss, and others. |
